300th Episode Around the Corner... Reviews, News and More

Simpsons News — Posted 16 Feb, 2003 by MrBurns

The moment we've been waiting for the past few months is about to happen. Just 1 day after Matt Groening's Birthday [Happy 49th Matt! 02/15] the 300th episode is airing. We've already seen a list of news for the episode as well as the sitcom. The most recent have been an overview of the Special Guests [Minneapolis Star] which have been on the show, an overview of the Voice Cast [Tacoma News] and their loyalty to the show and even the Top 10 Reason Why We Still Love the Show [The Mercury].
There has also been a Review of the 300th episode [SunSpot] which says "that episode 300 of the medium's best-ever comedy is not a great one." The article has a brif explanation of the show and explains why its not up to par. We say that the best thing to do is enjoy the episode as best as you can and have fun with it.

Other stories out there are:
-America's Real First Family [Los Angeles Calendar Live]
-Wit and Wisdon of the Simpson [Seatle PI]

Our favorite quotes:
The wit and wisdom of 'The Simpsons'

Epic quotables from "The Simpsons," gleaned from various fan Web sites.

Homer: "I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: 'Cover for me.' Number 2: 'Oh, good idea, boss!' Number 3: 'It was like that when I got here.' "

Homer: "Kid, you tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is, never try."

Homer: "When will I learn? The answers to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle. They're on TV!"

Bart: "There's no such thing as a soul. It's just something they made up to scare kids. Like the boogeyman. Or Michael Jackson."

Lisa: "Mom, romance is dead. It was acquired in a hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece."

Marge: "You don't need friends to be happy. I haven't had a friend in years."

Abraham "Grandpa" Simpson: "Son, I'm not going to lie to you. You're a dumb as a mule and twice as ugly. If a strange man offers you a ride, I'd say take it."

Moe Szyslak: "You go through life, you try to be nice to people, you struggle to resist the urge to punch 'em in the face, and for what? So some pimply little puke can treat you like dirt because you're not on the team. Well, I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt. I mean, not that fancy store-bought dirt. That stuff's loaded with nutrients. I . . . I can't compete with that stuff."

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon: "Here's a pointer: Try to take it in the shoulder."

Chief Clancy Wiggum: "All right, you scrawny beanpoles. Becoming a cop is not something that happens overnight. It takes one solid weekend of training to get that badge."

Krusty the Clown: "After 35 years of show business people already forget who you are. Just like what's his name . . . you know, the guy . . . he always wore the shirt?"

Montgomery Burns: "Family, religion, loyalty . . . these are the demons you must slay if you want to be successful."

Kent Brockman: "Joblessness is no longer just for philosophy majors. Now, useful people are starting to feel the pinch."

Various: "D'oh!"
