Growing Up with The Simpsons... But are They the Only Simpson Family?

Hey fans, some news you can use heading your way. First off we have a great story covering the coverage of the 300th episode but it also goes deeper to talk about how our generation has literally grown up watching The Simpsons. We have grown up with all the parodies, the jokes and the rest of the Simpsons humor. It's become a common thing for us and almost has formed its own religious following. Knowing that we all love the way the Simpsons family is, one needs to wonder if it's all original. Did the Simpsons comedy form all by itself or are there "Other Simpson Families". It's pretty obvious that a lot of the comedy on the show comes from past shows or even recent events. As talked about in the United Press International, the Simpsons use some comedy from the past TV families/shows Castellaneta recalled an actor who used to yell out a drawn-out "D'ooooh!" in old Laurel & Hardy films, probably as a euphemism for "damn" -- a word definitely banned in those yesterdays. Skinner talking about his stolen H from his car is also a prime example. Shows such as Married with Children also helped lead the way to what we know as The Simpson family. But, lets not be one sided here, it is also true that the show has also paved the way for shows after it.
