The students of Springfield Elementary are on a field trip to Springfield's Glacier, but when they get there, the glacier is a shadow of its former self. Lisa (of course) blames global warming. While Lisa is calling for action to save the glacier, her brother is taking every opportunity to torment her. Meanwhile, back in town Homer and Marge have gone to Sprawl Mart to do some shopping. When Grampa (Sprawl Mart's greeter) isn't capable of doing his job, goes down, Homer takes over and does such a great job it gets him a full time position with no chance for advancement. Lisa has gotten her revenge on Bart by getting a restraining order against him, he must stay at least 20 feet away from her at all times, or go to jail. Continue...
Chief Wiggum shows the family a videotape hosted by Gary Busey on how to live with a restraining order. For his part Homer constructs a 20 foot pole that Lisa can use to help keep them apart. It impacts Bart's life at home and school. At family court, after Bart points out some obvious flaws in her character, Judge Harm increases the distance to 200 feet. Having to live at the edge of their property, Bart decides to embrace living the natural way. Homer finds out from his fellow employees how to endure working at Sprawl Mart. And mistakenly feeling that Bart might have changed, Lisa decides to forgive him.
============================
Blackboard: Beer in a milk carton is not milk.
Couch: The family sits on the couch as normal and then the camera turns and tracks upwards through the ceiling, into the atmosphere and out into space with a view of the Earth, which is shown in its place in the solar system. The solar system becomes part of the galaxy, which in turns becomes part of the universe. The galaxies in the universe become parts of an atom, which in turn are part of a DNA molecule, which in turn makes a part of Homer's head. "Cool.".
When did The Simpsons ever have a gigantic forest in their backyard (or on their property)? They live in suburbia!
Bart's never done anything nice for Lisa? How about "Lisa It's Your Birthday" from episode Stark Raving Dad? Heck, there's an entire montage of nice things Bart did for Lisa in episode Lisa On Ice. That's just a few things that come to mind.
When the manager of Sprawl*Mart shows Homer the fake Mexican passport/ID, it says "mexicana" for the nationality. The grammatically correct form for a male would be "mexicano."
When Bart is outside in the tent, he is far away from the house and there is no fence. When Marge and Lisa are inside, you can see a fence and different plants out back.
Restraining orders don't work like this episode acts like they do. Both parties have to stay away from each other, and Lisa voluntarily going with 20 feet of Bart is her violating the order. She can't go into the library and displace him.
When did the Simpsons get a screen door in the back?
Video: Get Out Of My Dreams And Also Get Out Of My Car
The title for the videotape about the restraining order parodies the title to the Billy Ocean. song "Get Out Of My Dreams And Into My Car."
