Sit back and grab yourself a box of Cookie Dohs! as we go through the list of items which were featured at the Toy Fair 2003 show.
Playmates Toys
First off we have the photo for what the 300th episode special set should look like. In the picture we can see it'll include Bart, Lisa, Principal Skinner and Homer decked out in skater gear. In the background it looks like Blink 182 which might just be an image or actual figures.
Next up are the new Simpson screamers. Each Simpsons Screamer, is about seven inches tall and features a soft body torso with soft roto-molded head, arms and feet. Just push the belly of your favorite Simpsons character and hear them scream out one of many random phrases.
Simpsons Interactive figures are also new. Similar to the large 15" figures released in the past these figures talk to you. Ask Homer or Bart for some advice, or ask them to give you a glimpse of the future. They have the answers to all your questions and then some. Using highly accurate voice recognition technology, Homer and Bart come to life with their own unique personality captured in their responses to your pre-determined questions. Ask up to five different questions, multiple random answers allow for lots of fresh response combinations.
The new diorama sets looks very cool. Features characters from past series' the diorama give a background to these sets (2 or more figures per diorama). Each two-pack will come with a sidewalk and backdrop diorama of Springfield's most popular places that connect together enabling a collector to create the entire World of Springfield.
Next up are the upcoming 9in Faces of Springfield figures. Moe and Barney are the second wave of these figures.
Waves 13 and 14 from the World of Springfield sets were also brought out for review. These figures were covered by us previously but it is great to see them finally made.
Along with the Wave 13 and 14 figures, the Exclusive Mail-In Offer figures of the remaining B-Sharps were also shown.
Playing Mantis
From the Playing Mantis / Johnny Lightning toy company we first have the new series of die cast cars. The package and first models are only moch-ups of what they plan on releasing. Very cool in our opinion.
Playing Mantis also displayed the new model car which was announced last year, "The Homer". The car that put Herb Powell out of business can now be yours as well. This model car is soon to be released by the company.
We'll keep you updated as more information comes out. Big thank you to Figures.com for the images. We highly recommend you visit their site for more of their exclusive coverage on the show and all the toys companies which are attending.
