Ned Flanders foresees how people die in "The Ned Zone." Lisa Simpson mimics Sherlock Holmes in "Four Beheadings and a Funeral." The Simpsons clan goes miniature to travel into Mr. Burns' body for "In the Belly of the Boss."
The last sketch sends up the sci-fi favorite "Fantastic Voyage," a title that nicely sums up the history of "The Simpsons."
The Fox show delivers its devilishly clever Halloween special Sunday, a week late. But the series has been ahead of its time in just about every other respect. Ironic wit and inspired spoofs have carried the animated classic to its 16th season, making it the longest-running television comedy.
"It's the most meaningful thing we've done," executive producer Al Jean said. "It's hard to surprise people week after week." Full Story.
Hey hey all you UK Simpsons fans! Unless you've been living under a rock for the past six months, you'll know that the BBC no longer own the rights to The Simpsons, and Channel Four have now bought those rights - for approximately half a million pounds per episode!
And tomorrow night (Friday 5th), Channel Four launch the show with a whole night of Simpsons-themed entertainment! The fun starts at 9.00pm with two new-to-terrestial episodes, "A Tale of Two Springfields" and "Treehouse of Horror XI". At 10.00 is a special documentary, "The Ultimate Guide to The Simpsons".
And following this at 11.05 is what will be the highlight of my evening: "The Simpsons Quiz". Hosted by Jamie Theakston, the show tests the Simpsons expertise of six celebrities: Sara Cox, Ralf Little and Richard Bacon (Team 1); and Nick Frost, Iain Lee and Krishnan Guru-Murphy (Team 2) - and it's very, very funny! How do I know? Because I went to the filming of it! A definite must-see for all UK fans.
If you watch Channel Four regularly, you might have noticed the various adverts and clips they've shown. In addition, they showed "break bumpers" - short splash images shown just before an advert break - which were Simpsons pictures made up of the Channel Four logo. I have added these to the miscellaneous image gallery. Enjoy!
