Simpsons News — Posted 28 Apr, 2002 by MrBurns

Hey guys, some new news for you. Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart, is still touring while speaking about and signing her book, "My Life as a 10-year-old Boy". Her latest stop was Weber State University in Utah. There Cartwright talked about how surprised she usually gets when the people that she admires as actors are usually bigger fans of her and The Simpsons than she would have ever thought. The full story can be found HERE. In other news, rumors have been spreading that President George W. Bush would be making a special guest appearance on the show in the upcoming 14th season. While we have confirmed the people mentioned in the yesterdays story, it has been proven that this rumor is false. Next off some rumors about the show. For the 300th episode (wow! 300 already?! ) special guests Blink 182 and Tony Hawk are scheduled to show. Other name for guests for season 14 (wow! 14 already?! ) are starting to get out. Some of these include Elvis Costello as well as Burt Ward (Robin) and Adam West (Batman).

Lastly, some news on upcoming figures:
Scout Leader Flanders has replaced Agnes Skinner in Series 10.
Celebrity Series 3 will have Jim Varney as Cooder instead of Lyle Lanley.
Main Street will come with Crazy Old Man and Squeaky Voice Teen.
THOH 3 will include: Ironic Punishment Environment with Exclusive Donut Head Homer, Witch Marge, Hugo, and Dream Invader Willie.
New Years set will include New Year Simpsons Family.

We had a chance to hit the Fox Studio lot today and found that the Fox store was having a massive sale today and yesterday. Things going for literally $1 was Futurama stuff, Ally McBeal merchandise and some older King of the Hill stuff. Simpson stuff on sale were some older shirts and books. We did pick up 1 sericel and 1 production cel for studio cost (cheap!) so that made our day. We hopefully will have such stuff up for sale on our site under Art.

News: A Birthday, A Website Update & A Nick Award?!

Simpsons News — Posted 24 Apr, 2002 by MrBurns

Hey fellow collectors, lots of new news to tell you about so let's get started.

First off we want to wish Hank Azaria, the voice of such characters as Apu, Moe and Professor Frink, a very Happy 38th Birthday. This has been a rough season for Hank especially with the cancellation of his own show on NBC.

Next little bit of news is the good people at Playmates Toys, the producers of the World of Springfield toy line, have updated their site.

Some of the updates on the site include the pictures of the upcoming Series 9 toys, the pictures of the new exclusives and the listing of future releases such as the Bongo Wave, 9" Figure Wave and the Bobble-Heads Wave.

Lastly on our news report for you guys which we found interesting is that on the most recent Nickelodean Kid's Choice Awards, The Simpsons won for Best Cartoon. Surprisingly even with all those Nick Toons and other cartoons watched by the viewers of Nickelodeon, the kids still prefer Simpsons over all of them. Not a big surprise to us but we'd thought let all you good people out there know :)

Project Yellow: Taking the Simpsons into 3D

Simpsons News — Posted 17 Apr, 2002 by MrBurns

Most of us remember the amazing the special 3D effects we saw in the Halloween Episode where Homer and Bart enter a world of 3D and we get to experience our two characters in this state. Well imagine if you can a full episode of the Simpsons in 3D. This is what Project Yellow is all about. Currently you can view the opening sequence of the show and they are working on the chess set in 3D.

The details and graphics are amazing to say the least. This is a definate must see for anyone involved in the field of graphic design or if you want to see your favorite show in a different perspective. These guys are in Denmark so we don't know if they get any funding or help from the people at Fox for this but it would be great if they would team up atleast for one full 3D episode.

Get Your Wallets Ready...

Simpsons News — Posted 13 Apr, 2002 by MrBurns

It's that time again, the time where all of us crazy collectors pull out our wallets and charge up our credit cards, pull out all of our cash and decide what foods we really need to buy so we can buy those new Simpson collectibles coming out. As shown above there are quite a few items coming out.
First off we have the EBX exclusive High School Homer and Marge. The set has already been spotted in a few EBX stores and you can still pre-order on the EBX website.
Next up is the Series 8 set. As usual the set contains 6 new figures and along with the figures will be 2 new playsets (not shown above) which are the DMV and Cafeteria. Sometimes the playsets come out 2-4 weeks after the actual figures.
Lastly something to watch for in the next few days are the new Simpson bowling shirts from the people at Hot Topic. We also recommend that since our store is not ready that you visit the good people at SunWayCo.com . They are affordable and usually get the apparel first before anyone. Still, there have been reports of these shirts popping up at local Hot Topic stores already. The bowling shirt is 1 of a set of 3 which includes the Employee Nuclear Plant shirt and Employee Quik-E Mart shirt.

We'll keep you updated on more products hitting your local stores soon.
