Inspired by the most logical race in the galaxy, The Vulcans, breeding will be permitted once every seven years. For many of you, this will mean much less breeding. For me, much much more.— CBG
This first full theatrical trailer came out around February 2007.
The first full trailer starts with pen lines being drawn on paper, accompanied by a voiceover.
This summer, between honor and dishonor...
between family and enemies...
between July and August...
a line will be drawn...
and then colored in yellow.
We see the lines form a drawing of Homer. This fades into the final colored and animated versions of Homer with the sled dogs from Animatic Clip 1. Run! Run!
he spurs, followed by Jump! Jump
when jumping over a crevasse, and Rest! Rest!
when the dogs are taking a break.
Later, Homer sets up camp for the night. Now I know we've had a rough day, but I'm sure we can put all that behind us...
The dogs attack him.
On July twenty-seventh,
the voiceover continues, as Bart and Ned Flanders climb to the top of a hill, a secret will be revealed.
Look at that,
Flanders says. You can see the four states that border Springfield. Ohio, Nevada, Maine and Kentucky.
Oh yeah!
replies Bart.
An empire will rise,
the voiceover continues. We see a brief shot of a totem pole rising from the ground, in a building not unlike M.C. Escher's Relativity drawing.
Next, Chief Wiggum, Apu and dr. Hibbert are at Mr. Burns' mansion. I have two buttons behind this desk,
the mogul states. One will supply your town with power, the other releases the hounds.
Just look into your heart,
Apu pleads, and you will find the answer.
Behind Burns, Smithers indicates this is a bad idea by waving his arms. Burns releases the hounds on them.
Next, the Simpson family are crossing a wooden plank from their house to Flanders'. The voiceover resumes. And a family will fall.
In the next shot, Marge points at Homer. It was you!
Outside, the mob approaches, chanting We want Homer! We want Homer!
Homer is hanging from a noose in front of the townspeople, with his arm inside the loop protecting him. The word 'apology' is tossed around a lot these days...
A circular saw is thrown at him. D'oh!
Twentieth Century Fox presents,
starts the voiceover. We see a long montage of character clips. Homer...
Homer, lying down, takes a sip of some very hot liquid, then screams as he breathes fire out of his mouth. He lays back down again. More please.
The voiceover picks up again. Marge, Lisa, Bart, Maggie, Mr. Burns, Smithers, Krusty, Barney, Lenny, Carl, Itchy, Moe...
What?!
Moe exclaims.
The voiceover quickens. Grampa, Apu, Wiggum, Milhouse, Nelson, Ralph, Selma, Patty, Bumblebee Man, Willie, Jimbo, Skinner, Otto, Brockman, Reverend Lovejoy...
Lovejoy plays a video surveillance tape to Marge. Here's the money shot!
he says.
And a cast of thousands, in the movie event eighteen years in the making.
Bart, in the woods at night, exclaims, Flanders!
At the First Church of Springfield, Flanders is with his kids as Bart enters. Always room for one more in the Flanders clan.
And the fate of the world,
continues the voiceover, Hangs in the balance.
After a few more short clips (including Green Day sinking on their concert raft), we see Bart in a tree outside his home. He looks into Homer's room to see him tummy-kissing Plopper. Who's a good pig?
he says, in baby-talk.
More clips follow, then we see another part to the scenes in Teaser 2. Bart laughs after Homer hits himself in the eye with a hammer. Why you little!
he barks, strangling Bart. I'll teach you to laugh at something that's funny!
The Simpsons Movie logo closes the trailer.
