From Homer with Love.. but for Long?

Simpsons News — Posted 30 Jan, 2003 by MrBurns

Hey fans, some fun news for all of you. iTV and Ananova have reported that people who have sent emails to ChunkyLover53@aol.com are now actually getting replys back... from Homer! "Writer-producer Matt Selman registered the address chunkylover53@aol.com as he wrote the episode, according to Executive producer Al Jean. Jean said: "He logged in the night that the episode aired and it was immediately filled with the maximum number of responses." It's almost like getting a letter from Santa Claus. Read the full story by Clicking Here

Somewhat relating to the story above, now on eBay there is an auction for the name on AOL ChunckyLover53. As you can see the name is ALMOST the same but not quite. We are sure the address still gets it's share of emails and the winner can always pretend to be Homer as most people won't notice the extra c; at first we didn't. It's item #3308705431 on eBay or just Click Here to go to the auction.

Rumored 300th Episode Item

Simpsons News — Posted 28 Jan, 2003 by MrBurns

Hey fans, our friends at Fox sent us a very cool promotional postcard from the licensing dept. (above) and some very interesing information. It seems that Fox is working on a very limited (100 pieces) limited edition art piece for the 300th episode. Each piece is supposed to be a hand-painted and the artwork is to be in 3D. It will relate to the 300th episode in a "skateboarding" fashion (something about Homer skating?? and Tony Hawk??). We couldn't get our hands on the design but we know it will be released end of February. Also, each piece will be signed by the man himself, Matt Groening. As we get more information on the VERY cool 300th episode item, we will be sure to tell you.

Hollywood Reporter reports news on Simpsons Executive Producer, Al Jean: Al Jean, a longtime member of the "Simpsons" production clan, has inked a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV that will keep him at the helm of Fox's animated stalwart for at least two more seasons. Under the seven-figure pact, Jean will continue as an executive producer and showrunner of "The Simpsons" and also develop new projects for the studio. "Al is simply one of the very best, and we're sick and tired of how he gets overlooked because people have longer names," said James L. Brooks, who executive produces "The Simpsons" with creator Matt Groening and Jean. Jean has been a part of the "Simpsons" team as producer or consultant since the show's first season. After running the series early on with Mike Reiss, he took the reins of the show again in 2001. (Nellie Andreeva)
