Hey fans, some news to use. It's 8pm on Sunday.. do you know what your 5 year old is watching? Well according to a recent study by A La Trobe University young children usually between the ages of 4 and 6 years old who watch such "adult dramas" as The Simpsons and Seinfeld usually get hooked and develop unhealthy behavior. Well, you be the judge, read the article Here.
Another interesting news story we found where the staff of the Redlands Daily in California found the actual location of Springfield. The location may surprise you.. or maybe not. Find out their "big discovery" by going Here.
Hey fans, NJ Croce, the company which has brought us the excellent line of Simpsons bendies has recently released the exclusive Simpson pets as keychains. You may remember that Santa's Little Helper was the exclusive for the Series 1 bendies set and Blinky was the exclusive for the Series 2 bendies set. Now you can get them seperately in the form of a keychain; before you could only get these bendies if you bought the boxed series. Retailing for about $4.99 you can pick these up at stores which carry Simpson items such as Spencers or TFAW.
Hey fans, some news you can use. First off it looks like the BBC has decided to "cancel" the Simpsons for the time in which Wimbledon is on. "Well, after careful and prolonged thought on this, I’ve concluded that I simply don’t know. What is it about Wimbledon that causes the BBC to cancel the Simpsons and the endless repeats of the Fresh Prince of Bel-air for two weeks, risking a barrage of angry letters to Points of View? Why are small red fruit covered in cream so significant? Why won’t it stop raining for two seconds so we can actually see some play?" Read all about it Here.
Looks like our favorite family is helping the study of science once more. "Characters from Irish soap operas and The Simpsons have been used in ESRC-funded research into how we get to learn people's faces...Researchers used a variety of experiments, involving volunteers viewing video sequences of people, watching episodes of unfamiliar soap operas (from Irish TV), and learning the visual appearance of familiar but previously unseen characters from radio's The Archers and voices from The Simpsons. They found that for unfamiliar faces, memory appears dominated by the 'external' features, but where the face is well-known it is 'internal' features such as the eyes, nose and mouth, that are more important." Read all about it Here.

The article also features some very interesting interviews with Homer and Marge. You can pick up this issue at your local news stand for the price of $3.99 US/ $4.99 Canada. Hey fans, some news on places where you can catch the one and only great one, the creator of our favorite family, Matt Groening. Even though only in the west coast, the two events seem very exciting. The first is actually a delayed event of Los Angeles' All Tomorrow's Parties which was supposed to happen in June. Due to sluggish sales of tickets the event has been rescheduled for Septemeber 26-28th which is about the same time the UCLA semester starts. Since the event is on the campus this may draw in a bigger crowd. The second event announced by The Oregonian states that Matt Groening is scheduled for March 18th 2004 for the Portland Arts & Lectures. Both Matt and comic artist Lynda Barry will be talking about their work that day. Mark your calendars, you've got almost a full year to get ready. We'll keep you updated if any of these or other events change or come about.
