Turn Your Simpsons Phone Off.. In Court

Of all the embarrassing places where a mobile phone can ring, a coroner's court must be on a par with a funeral.Inquests are often emotionally charged, as tearful bereaved relatives answer questions about the deceased from a coroner whose duty is to establish the cause of death. When the theme tune from The Simpsons suddenly clangs through the courtroom, people involved in the inquest can react with anger, red faces, tears or sometimes even laughter.
Dewi Pritchard-Jones, coroner for North-west Wales, has seen this happen too many times.In one recent inquest, he warned that if proceedings were interrupted once more by a ring tone, the phone's owner would be ordered to pay £25 to charity. Read it at the ic Wales website.

Another Themed DVD Announced

Well fans, the rumors are true and Fox is going to be releasing a Christmas with the Simpsons DVD. This is the second DVD announced in the past month which is "themed". The first was the Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors DVD which will feature all the THOH episodes we all love. This one is based on Christmas themed episodes with the Simpsons including the very first episode of the Simpsons; "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". The DVD is due for an October 14th release in Region 1 which is about a month after the THOH DVD. It will retail for $14.98 US and $16.98 CAN. Hey fans, some little news updates on upcoming events where you can meet up with a few top people associated with the Simpsons. First off we have for all you Aussies out there an exclusive event by The Comics Mint at 31 Toorak Road, South Yarra, Victoria 3141 Australia. The Comic Mint in conjunction with Twentieth Century Fox is hosting an exclusive animation art signing with the extroadinary voice artist from The Simpsons, Harry Shearer. Harry is the voice of Monty Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner & many, many others. Harry will be signing special dedications for any Simpsons cels and drawings purchased from The Comic Mint on Saturday, July 19th, 2003 between 11am to 1pm.

For all you Bongo Comics fans, Bongo editor Bill Morrison and writers Batton Lash and Jesse McCann are heading to Comics Unlimited at 16344 Beach Blvd Westminster CA 92683. You'll have the opportunity to talk to the guys, as well as get autographs and sketches, and meet other Bongo fans. The appearance will take place Saturday August 2nd between 3 and 5pm.
