Well poor Bart Simpsons won't be hitting puberty anytime soon. Maybe the way that the show stays so funny is because he doesn't; atleast that's what this NY Times writer thinks. "No matter how many laughs a television show can squeeze from an impish boy, cracking wise and bugging out his eyes at various oppressors, a sudden end to the laughter looms. The comedy often stops when puberty starts. Only one show has succeeded in keeping a kid in the lead for a decade: "The Simpsons" with the animated Bart Simpson. Watching Bart never mature is considered a key to its enduring appeal. "Early on, I know that the powers that be decided that no one would age," said Tim Long, the show's current head writer. "A kid with a starter 'stache, that would just be unpleasant," he added. "You don't worry about his future because in a way he has none." Sorry Bart.. read the full story here.

Alcohol, frustration and the Simpsons led Shaun Higgs to punch a police officer in the head.
Higgs, 23, of no fixed abode, was jailed for six weeks after he admitted causing criminal damage and assaulting a police officer.
Stephen Colman, prosecuting, told South East Suffolk Magistrates Court that Higgs went to the house of ex-girlfriend Marie Brill in Ipswich's Kingston Road, saying he wanted to talk.
But while he was in Ms Brill's living room, an argument broke out in which Higgs was compared to a character in the Simpsons television programme.
Mr Colman said: "A reference was made to Mr Higgs' character, that it was like someone on the Simpsons show."Higgs grabbed his coat and then grabbed an ornament on the table. Some CDs and a plant pot on the table went flying. Higgs was then forced out the house, but he smashed the plant pot and the ornament on the step."
The police were called and Higgs was put in the police car. But on the journey, Higgs kept taking out his anger on the passenger seat. Read the full story Here
Hey art lovers, the Simpsons art has always been known to be very well.. 2D. Most artwork for the show has been either a 2D Sericel, Production Cel or Giclee. Since the show is drawing there really was no 3D art for it, until now. The artists Tim West has been working with companies like Disney, Warner Brothers and Kodak to create some of the most origianl 3D artwork for cartoons. Tim has now created some of our favorite scenes from The Simpsons as well. The processed includes 500-1000 pieces of hand-cut papers which is then molded in resin to resemble a paper sculptures. These are truly amazing looking pieces of art. Click Here to see a full page ad on Tim and the art. We highly recommend that if you are interested in purchasing one of Tim's pieces, please contact the Wonderful World of Animation.
