Groening Bashes Fox Network

Simpsons News — Posted 19 Mar, 2003 by MrBurns

Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, recently spoke to "The Sun" regarding his thoughts on Fox. He discussed about Futurama and its cancellation which he fully blamed on Fox. But.. according to Matt, Fox doesn't even like the Simpsons. Matt goes on to say "But they don't like The Simpsons either. The idea of a TV show that they haven't gotten their greasy fingers all over creatively drives them nuts." Matt also talks about the fact that they won an Emmy for the show and didn't even recieve a call from the people at Fox.. those bastards. "Beyond the small screen, there's also the much-rumoured Simpsons feature film, which Groening confirms he's working on. "We're talking about doing it. We just want to make sure, if we do, it doesn't follow in the dismal footsteps of other currently-running TV shows turned into movies. I can only think of one that worked and that was South Park," he says." Read the full story by Clicking Here.

Simpsons News — Posted 16 Mar, 2003 by MrBurns

"The Simpsons," believe it or not, now grace the syllabus of at least one course at Cal, one of the country's most prestigious public universities, home to Nobel Prize winners, renowned scientists and more famous authors than there are hemp clothing sellers on Telegraph Avenue. This two-unit course, called "Simpsons and Philosophy," is part of the university's De-Cal program, student-sponsored initiatives in cooperation with UC Berkeley faculty meant to "broaden the education, and the university experience, of all Cal students."
This is not the first time the Simpsons have shown up at a Univerisity or school in a course for philosophy or religion. We're just wondering when ever school will carry this class. UC Berkeley has always been known to take on "different" methods of teaching, this is definately a great move. Read the full article Here.

The newest person on the list of people who want to be on the show is White Stripes drummer Meg White. She admitted: "A guest appearance (on 'The Simpsons') would be amazing.
