News: Happy Meals, Band Camp and Fox News

Simpsons News — Posted 03 Mar, 2003 by MrBurns

Hey fans, some interesting news coming to you direct. First off we have an interesting story regarding the famous McDonalds Happy Meals. As many remember, last year the Burger King had a series of releases in the Kids' Meals with Simpsons items as well as Simpsons items for the adults when purchasing meals. This new marketing ploy by such companies as Burger King, which uses the Simpsons, has caused the McDonalds to see a decline in their Happy Meals with kids and adults for the past 3 years. Oh the Power of the Simpsons.. read all about it by Clicking Here.

We all remember the season opener with Homer going to band camp with such people as The Rolling Stones; now you can do that too. It's true confirmed for this year's bootcamp are Roger Daltrey (The Who), Ace Frehley (Kiss), Markie Mark (The Ramones), Simon Kirke (Bad Company), Bret Michaels (Poison), Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad) as well as members from the bands of Billy Joel, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Hall and Oates. Still think it's just a thing the Simpsons episode invented? Find out the real fact by Clicking Here.

Finally on the news agenda is the focus of the power of the Simpson toward the Fox Network and the Fox News. It was only 12 years ago when Bush Sr. send the troops into for the Kuwait War and back then the Fox Network was no competition to the power of CNN. Now, with the drawing of viewers with the Simpson over the past 13 years, the Fox network and Fox News has set itself as a rival against such news network as CNN. "The Simpsons is the rock on which Rupert Murdoch built his American TV empire. This empire is now being used in support of the war effort. Twelve years ago, CNN ruled the Gulf War and Fox News didn't even exist. Now it is outmuscling CNN in America and changing the ideological landscape. So strong are its ratings that Fox News is rivalling The Simpsons as Murdoch's American media jewel, but the cartoon, which mocks the tabloid values of Fox, shows no sign of losing its iconic status or its brilliant edge. It is probably the most important entertainment in the world." Read the full story by Clicking Here
