In the era of the dinosaurs, a pterodactyl resembling Agnes Skinner flies past. Homer evolves into a rat and avoids a fight between Bart (as a T-Rex) and Lisa (as a Stegosaurus) by diving into a hole. A meteorite falls from the sky, wiping out the dinosaurs, but Homer emerges from the hole unscathed. He continues evolving into a monkey then a large ape, then a prehistoric man. On the way he meets Moe devolving from a man into an ape then a rodent. Homer evolves into man, progressing through recent eras such as the Middle Ages and Shakespearean times, into a smart-looking man, then Homer's usual self. He enters his house and sits on the couch. Marge asks What took you so long? to which Homer just groans.
